Romeo And Juliet Metaphors

Shakespeare is notoriously famous for use of metaphors in his works. Keeping true to his fame, the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is riddled with many metaphors. Some of the most common metaphors found in the play are:

"But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the Sun." (Act II Scene II)
In this metaphor, Romeo describes Juliet as his Sun, which is a beacon of hope for him that pulls him out of darkness and gloom.

"Her eyes are homes of silent prayer."
In this metaphor, Juliet is being compared to a silent prayer that he hopes to be fulfilled.
